Well its been awhile (ever?) that I've felt the need to put a thread in this forum...but tonight I found both of my pink skunk clowns dead.

I haven't the foggiest idea what happened...I brought them home on January 4th, they've been great ever since. Then I did a water change the day before yesterday, salinity & temp alright...although the bucket of water was kinda old so there was evaporation and I filled it back up and only mixed it with a powerhead overnight before doing the change. Tank seemed a little extra cloudy afterwards, but everyone seemed fine yesterday. -=sigh=-

Anyway...they'll be missed and as soon as I make sure my firefish is ok and the tank is alright I'll probably go back to that store and get some more.

Oh, that's too bad. Maybe something got into the bucket while it was sitting out (like cleaning sprays or something)? Are you planning to get pink skunks again?

Yeah...that almost has to be it, and since the clowns were newest they must have been more sensitive. I am really hoping that the firefish pulls through, he doesn't look so happy and I'm not sure if its the loss of his buds or that he isn't feeling well?? The hermit and the snail both seem like they couldn't care less.

I'd like to try the pink skunks again, unless the guy at the store is getting a lot of stories about them being overly sensitive...I know when I was there he had two tanks of them and out of one of the tanks he had like 2 die that day so he took them out of the other tank (not shared filtration or anything).

The firefish didn't make it...I went in to check on him this morning before work and he wasn't breathing so...yeah. :(

Guess I'll have a few weeks to put the sand in and hopefully there isn't something really toxic in there that'll kill my crab and the snail and my pod population/live rock...

After talking with Camaro last night I added the venturi accessory to get some bubbles into the water thinking that maybe the o2 level in the water was wayy too low...who knows...either was too little too late or not the problem I guess.

I have had fish stress during a water change and die. They had been through a few of them before and I never did anything different. But one time they just spooked, lost all color and never recovered. Sorry for your loss Froggy. I hope everyone else is ok.

Yesterday I just had one of my gups die from unknown causes, he seemed to always be in shock of some kind, and the stress alone of a water change can do some strange things it seems, I'm sorry for the loss of em, I hope the snail and hermit will be alright, hermits seem to have a okay time as long as it's shell is just right and it has food.
