i feel really dumb for needing to ask, but i can't for the life of me understand why some people say "pl*c" when referring to the mighty plecostomus in their posts and/or sigs. i searched the forum.. but about 500 results came back.. way too much for me to sift through in hopes of finding an answer in context! can someone please explain the use of the asterik?

oh my gosh...really! Ive never heard that one before but I havent been around on the fish forums for very long either....wow

dude lol my pleco died (not kidding) but that was after a year of saying pleco. It just died 3 weeks ago though. Also i always thought saying pleco was just plain unlucky and it wasn't specifically bad for your pleco but i'd like to belive that idea more.

No, not really I was just hoping for a good story to read.

maybe this one guy had an old pleco and he didn't know the name of the pleco and just called it a suckerfish and one day he found out its real name was a pleco and said hi to his pleco and it just died just a wild guess

Typing pleco kills plecos......Now that's funny!! I hear if you say bloody mary 3 times in front of a mirror, she'll scratch your eyes out. I'm off to go check on my pleco, wish me luck.
