Silver dollar trouble

We just did a much needed clean out of our big tank, but noticed that one of our silver dollars has a big scrape on its side. What should we do?

Sorry to hear about your Silver Dollar getting hurt. How bad is the scrape? Any pictures? The scrape should be able to heal on it's own in time through clean water changes. Melafix would help hasten the healing process, but it's not really necessary..

Add some aquarium salt too. It will help build a healthy slimecoat and prevent infection

I personally wouldn't add any salt, Tea tree oil \ Melafix should be more than enough to heal the wound. I've used it on my tanks off and on for almost a year, with no ill effects, the fish are happy, and haven't had a split fin, or anything bad in nearly as long.
