I've been considering buying a school of 5 silver dollars. I have yet to find out if these fish get more aggresive towards smaller fish as they get larger.

The fish that would be with this school that I am concerned about are neons, male guppies, and male endler's.

I don't think it would be aproblem when the school is small 1"-2", but I'm thinking down the road 5"-8".

I'm really looking for someone who has kept silver dollars with neons, guppies, and other small fish. How did they get along?

thanks

Guppies might be a problem seeing as though Silver Dollers like to "play/interact" with other fish like chase them around and stuff.

With 5 you might avoid this.

What size tank?

You'd prob. get better results if you got bigger fish like Sowrdtails and mollies instead of neons and guppies. Just to be safe.

I have two silver dollars with a zebra, siamese alge eaters, a swordtail, black neon tetras(approximately the same size as the regular ones). I also have them in there with very small ones and there was never a problem. Amazingly enough they are all there upon a final headcount at night. During the day they go missing.

KeepingTheBeat: Ive never had a problem with the dollars eating plants and am counting my blessings because if they had i might have quit at that point. If you still have problems maybe an algae wafer or two a night will work. I usually feed 4 in the tank one for pleco one for siamese eaters and one for each silver dollar. They always manage to suck on the algae wafers for almost an hour. Its kinda cool to watch. Its sad though because they try so hard to swallow them.

Good luck
