Silver Tip Tetra

(One last post, I promise!)

For my stocking list instead of Von Rios I was thinking of these Silver Tip Tetras, they have them for 99 cents at my LFS the Von Rios are 99 cents, woo. Anyway, I was going to get them and she said, "Oooh, no I wouldn't get those my customers all say they are very aggressive"

So, I'm wondering any experience with them from you guys? Aggressive? I was planning on getting 10 of them if that changes anything about their aggressiveness. I really loved them.

I don't have the experience of the flame tetras, but tetras being tetras I'm guessing they weren't being kept in a group of 6 or more when they became aggressive. Getting 10 would probably make them happy and help them color up.

I ended up going and getting some! I kind of think having them in the group is the key and I've never really had issues with aggressive fish besides guppies nipping or if I didn't put a fish in a proper school.

Grats on your new fishies! I saw some at the big LFS and noticed they were really mellow there. I would doubt they would cause problems in a big group of 10.

They are pretty small, my von rios are a bit smaller but I wouldn't imagine they'd bother the 1.5-2" rummy nosed tetras. They seem to be doing great!

The lady ended up giving me 17 instead of 10, so that's awesome (minus over stocking)

I love tetras. a nice sized school swimming in unison , , ahhh does'nt get much better than that. congrats on your new fish
