Skimmer Question

I hooked up my skimmer today, ( Aqua C Remora with a Maxi-Jet 1200 ), and put my water in and all.. Should I actually see anything foaming into the collection cup yet, with just salt/water in there?? It's running and all, but the foaming is just below the cup, and not really rising? Could it just be because I don't actually have any protein in the tank. I've checked it as best as I can for levelness, and it seems to be level everywhere. Do I just have to be patient before it actually foams into the cup?

yes, there is a "break in" period where skimmer will produce no foam, or wet foam, the acrylic in the skimmer has to get a coat of stuff removed that acumates during production, just running it for a week should acomplish this just fine
