Need some input/suggestions on skimmers. Setup is right now: 33gal with a sump of about 10-20gals. I'm trying to stay between $100-200. Possibly up to $250, but only in a case where i could use the skimmer in a tank upgrade if it happened.

Right now i have a few choices i quickly picked out for skimmers:

ASM Mini-G
Berlin Turbo Classic in-sump
Coralife Super Skimmer 65gal

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Biggest advantage is ease of cleaning/tweaking (the skimmer top is adjustable via a band that makes you able to put it at the perfect height to get your desired skimate.) Also like you said theres a skimmer pre-filter that is useful (and also hides the intake power head.) Also it can still be placed in the sump if you want it to.

the hob remora preskim box will take up quite a bit of room in your tank and for that reason I would suggest an in sump aqua remora urchin or hang the skimmer on the sump tank. Otherwise I would lean towards the asm...

I'm torn between 2 at this point...

Octopus DNW-150 Needlewheel Recirculating Skimmer or the Euro-Reef RS100

Octopus 150 Recirc
*Pros*
-Rated 150gal - 180gal
-$72 cheaper
-Double needle wheels and recirculating system
-Good reviews of the few out there
-In-Sump or External use
*Cons*
-Not many experiences out there to go off of
-6.5" taller
-1" needed for cup removal

Euro-Reef RS100

*Pros*
-Good reviews
-Good quality
-Slide off waste cup, 0" required to to remove it
*Cons*
-$72 more expensive
-Rated for at least 50gal less
-No recirculating
-Just in-sump

Both are pretty even, leaning towards the Octopus right now but i know Euro-reef is a popular choice and people recommend them. Any comments/suggestions?
