skimmer/uv

I was told by someone that if I'm running a uv sterilizer that I will skim less with my skimmer? True or false?

Now it would seem that if my uv is killin stuff, that I would be skimming more....

Any ideerz?

im not sure there is an answer to the question, and if there is i do not know it...if it is killing things which then rot i suppose you might skim more...on the other hand, it is also designed to remove micro algae which won't be skimmed i suppose...hmmm....i do not know

I dont think it will particularly affect the efficiency of your skimmer, however i dont really think UV sterilizers are particularly effective unless being used on large systems with lots of flow.

No difference, as opposed to ozone injection into the skimmer which will greatly improve a skimmers performance

Im aware that ozone will improve skimmer performance. But im curious if UV will inhibit skimming, or promote it?

I guess that by killing some stuff it might add to the load, but I don't believe it will do a toot for performance. Is there any reason it should?
