mine seem to be pretty shy as well, i have heard they are like that so its no big deal to me

if i come and sit down right next to the tank they will swim behind some drift wood, after a few minutes they will come out, mine are also very camera shy lol

My ram was kinda like that at first. I had to sneak up on my tank to see him swimming around. After about two weeks, he got over that and now just swims all around with fear of me or other people. As you can see, mine isn't camera shy (my avatar). Maybe a little in this set of pics but I have a bunch of new ones coming where I photo graphed him alot.

I don't have any hiders in my tank currently so check out the link in my signature and look at how I set up my tank because there is possibly some characteristic I have that they like.

Its not uncommon for new fish to take some time before they get used to the tank and are seen offen.

The more plants and other hiding areas like caves you can offer, the more protected the Rams will feel and the sooner they will be about in your tank.
