I have kept fish for quite a while but have never seen anything like this before. I have a jet black angel fish that developed some white spots. They did not look like ich and did not respond to the ich medication. Thinking maybe early fin rot (and only seeing gram positive bacteria from the swab I did of the fish) I tried treating him with triple sulfa. Three days in the situation took a weird turn. The fish is covered with a thick slime that is just falling off of him. Yesterday the tank (which has had 25% water changes almost daily) was covered in slime and the water clouded. His condition was pretty poor so I decided to risk tearing the tank down cleaning it with hot water and doing a 100% water change. 24hrs later the tank is covered in slime again. His eyes are cloudy his fins are starting to decay. Any ideas??
I am about 24hrs from putting him out of his misery (MS222). He has a little appetite, but that is fading.
