Long story short, I ended up with a picky betta who will only eat sinking pellets/granules. Right Now I've been crushing goldfish pellets and feeding him them but they make a mess and I don't have anything in his tank to eat up any leftover foods. I'm look for a food that slowly sinks and is big enough for him to see.

Any recomendations?

I know I tried freeze dried blood-worms for my betta. Omega brand. He'd take a little bite here and there, but mostly just spit it back out. On the other hand, he loved plain old Tetramin flakes. FWIW, the freeze dried blood worms float for a long time.

My new betta didn't seem to like flakes at first either, but once he saw his tank mates scarfing them up, he chows down on them now too. It's a good thing because any type of betta only food would get eaten by his tank mates very quickly.

I tried a cpl sinking shrimp pellets the other day and who grabbed them? The ghost shrimp! Cannibals I tell ya.

I've always used Hikari betta pellets. They are the same as most pellets - they float for a little then sink. Or, if you put them in there and then poke them, they'll usually sink immediately.
