Small cichilds that get along with Cories?

my mom's got a 20 gallon set up that shes going to have in her office but its home for the summer right now (she works at a school)
Right now she has 5 little julie cories in there. I know Kribs and Rams would work however i already have both of these fish in some of my tanks so i wanted to get her somthing different

Any suggestions/ideas?

Apistos might work.

Problem with the small dwarf cichlids with cories in a smaller tank is that the both occupy the same area of the tank near the bottem. Its really hit or miss. I've seen it go both ways, good and bad.

If you can find them Checkerboard cichlids would probably be ok.

Keyhole cichlids might work. Not really colorful, but are still cool.

Curvaceps are another option.
Little more colorful than the keyholes and they do not get as large.

Apisdos would be perfect. A. cacatuoides, eunotues, trifasciata and macmasteri are all pretty forgiving, and stay small.

I like the keyhole idea. There not that colourful, but they are really fun to watch!

 

[Unexpected]

Apistogramma agassizii. OR the Apistogramma cacatuoides. That is what I would go with.
