As far as I know there are no cichlids, that will be happy in a 2 or a 5 gallon tank.   You could probably put ONE shelldweller in a 5 gallon but I would not recommend it.

Molly fry, LOL..   Why don't you take them into the LFS for store credit ?  or grow them out and sell them on Aquabid.   this is much more "humane" than the previously stated method.

If you would like to keep cichlids, to eat fry or otherwise, I recommend at least a 33 gallon tank, for small Tanganykans, or at least a 55 for Malawi (mbunas)   With cichlids, the larger the tank, the better

One more thing - if you have never kept cichlids before, please do not start keeping cichlids for the only reason to eat baby fry  :D

You could start yourself another twenty gallon community with tetras and stuff, they'll eat fry if they can catch it. Or get yourself one of those African Clawed frogs, they love fish fry. And Crayfish will help too. The only problem is that the crayfish and the Clawed frogs would eat the parent fish too if they get big enough. The parent mollies will also eat their young if they can get them.  If you only have a 5 gallon tank now, I would think of getting a nice twenty gallon and do a community. Once you put mollies in a community tank, most of the fry will get eaten by tankmates soon enough and you won't have population problems.

At my shop I breed black mollies to feed my assortment of small mouthed SW carnivores who might not be able to eat larger goldfish.  If anybody wants to give me their babies, I have no problem with that. I can't give store credit, but the fry will either get placed in the "baby fish" tank, or fed. I live in NY.

I bought 2 pirhanas ( did I spell that right??) to take care of my fry problem. I can't wait for them to grow. Now I have an excuse to get that 45 gallon tank that I've always wanted....

you know what can live in a 5 gal. tank?   a rock.
no a betta, and a small bottem feeder like a ghost shimp or a chinese algae eater.
