After deciding to cut down my snail population tonight and pulling out more than I could handle, I decided to try to use a lettuce leaf. I uprooted all my plants and kicked off all the snails living on them. stuck the leafs to the bottom of my tank with a rock - will report back tomorrow morning on what I catch and if this really *does* work.

Some of these guys I'm pulling out are about an inch! I don't know where they come from!

How about using copper based fertilizers? Could you add enough over time to kill the snails but not ruin your plants? If it does work, though I presume that the dead matter would be very bad?

Dead snails in a tank tend to lead to some bad bacterias you dont want in there. a shot gloss with algea wafers work perfect, especially a deep one. Its the same way i catch mine when they get too over populated.

Snails FTW!
