so i brought a snail that has a really big shell and my hermit crab killed it because the crab is getting bigger and i was wondering if i should leave the snail in the tank so the crab can take his shell or will it leave toxins in my tank?

Yes, that is correct!!! Remove it ASAP. Just put it in an old butter dish (something disposable) or something filled with water for a couple weeks until it decays, then clean it really good and put it back in the tank for your crab. You might want to keep this out in the garage or shed/lean-to as it will smell really bad.

I think it is poisoned if any one tramples that and if a piece of its shell pricks it is not good so better to bury it.
