I've just noticed two tiny snails making their way up the inside of my tank. Is this something to be concerned about? Its a 5 week old tank that recently finished cycling. There are some live plants in there. What should i do about it?

What do their shells look like? They were probebly on your plants..and are rams or pond snails. My tanks have both, the ponds and rams can bite up your plants as they get big...but They really don't mess it up as much as people said they would. They are usually eatting the algae that is on the glass wood rocks or plants. Rarely do I see a whole in the leaves.

I have a yoyo loach in the one tank to help control them. The trumpet snails wont eat your plants(spirial pointy shell),so that may be a good thing.

I tried so hard not to get any snails in my new planted tank but alas I ended up with the worst kind. Rams!!! They have been making holes in my crypts. At first I tried smooshing the little buggers but they wouldn't die! >:( I have some khuli loaches but they don't seem to be eating them at all. So I just go and take about 50 or more out every few days and toss them in the trash and let them shrivel and die! MUAAHAHAHA!!! ;D
