snails??

Just a quick question. What type of snail do you get when purchasing plants that are loaded with tiny like babies(2mm max.). Can they live in a jar? how fast do they grow?how large?

not sure the exact name, pond snails maybe? they dont get very big, under an inch in my experience, but they can breed like crazy. you can keep them alive in a big enough jar with a piece of lettuce for food, but the water will need to be changed to keep the mess down. depending on the amount of food really dictates how fast they grow and how many new snails you will see pop up

They are pond snails, pretty sure and they can get bigger than an inch. I have several about an inch and a half long. You can keep them in a jar if you want but if you want to keep them alive, you'll want to change out some water about once a week.

ive never seen them get bigger than a cm

Sorry, my snails are about three years old now so I guess, maybe one wouldn't want to keep pond snails alive that long. But at that point they do get pretty big and they lay tons of eggs at a time ( which is why I keep them)

chances are their life and size depend on the size of the tank they live in
