Has any one ever had any problems with snails on gravel?  Mine almost flipped over tonight, and I was wondering if any one else has had this problem or if any one has found their snail upside down some days?  And, are they able to right them selves if they turn up side down.

Yeah, snails are pretty self sufficient.  In my 30 gallon the little punks thrive despite a plethora of "snail eaters." I wouldn't worry about one getting flipped upside down.

I had an apple snail who would float on occasion.  I read on a website that when they had eaten enough to relax, and stored oxygen in their shells they would just float.  But I'll tell you it surprised me pretty good the first time I saw him bobbing in the middle of the tank.

I wouldn't worry too much about any weird snail behavior.

Over night he feasted on one of my plants I stuck in there with him and my betta.  One time last night b4 I went to bed, I watched for a few minutes and he climbed to the water line of the tank, and went to make a left turn and my tank is a hex shape, and he hit that angle and got messed up and fell back to the bottom.  He landed right though.

I know that if a apple snail is in that unturnaoverable position(WHEW say that ten times fast) it can shift its weight to flip over unless there is something blocking the way. so my advice would be to flip him back over. For more proffesional info check out www.applesnail.net *celebratesmiley*

most snails have the ability to flip themselves over i wouldn't worry aboutthembeing flipped over sometimes they fall off the plans or glass and landupsidedown but i've noticed my mysterysnails when they fall aff now they stay open and land of they're ummmm.... feet or whatever they're called cool thing is it sometimes would appear as if they're gliding as they go down lol
