i have a Malawi setup but i was just wondering if there is any thing oddballish or different i could do to make it more interesting like any unusual fish or maybe a crab or a different layout? any ideas would be appreciated.

Whats wrong in your opinion with the tank now? Lack of activity? Lack of color? Lack of...?

Are you just looking for a centerpiece type fish?

Various cats work, as well as clown loaches. All depending on tank size. If that is what you're looking for.

Check out some synodontis. You don't see tons of people with them and they provide some cleanup/activity to the tank. Pretty cool looking too.
