i have 2 corys in my tank. 1 of which seems to have something eating at it...ther eare about 3 tiny sections where he doesnt seem to have scales anymore. i was treating a fungas last past week, maybe i put too much solution in. anyways u have all seen the marks whales and sharks have in the wild of white gashes from propellers etc. thats what it looks like except not as long. im thinking of taking it out of the tank, i dont want it to infect the others if it does have an illness.

I would have to see the fish to be sure, but it my be a fungal infection. I know that some species of barbs can be semi-aggresive though. You should also consider trading in the pleco and pictus. These fish will get much to large for a 15 gallon tank. Otos are very good algae cleaners and would be a much better fish for your situation. You could also add some more corys, they prefer to be in bigger groups. Before you go changing the tank around though, make sure there is no infefction present.

aha, i found the culprits. i sat and watched the tank for about 10min. looking for any odd behaviour and illness as i do every so often, and i saw the bigges gold barb(about 3/4 of an inch), nipping on teh cory. I took a closer look at teh cory and i noticed that his top fin has been nipped at aswell. its a shame, i love both fish but i cant leave them together if they're going to be doing that. ill have to move the barbs into the 20 gal with the clown loaches......maybe the extra room will calm the barbs down.
