I have a small tank with a filter in a black plastic thing that hangs on the inside back of the tank.

I have now removed this and put a new small one in the corner and it works better and the water is now perfect.

I then noticed that all my fish were hiding in the corner next to the filter. At first I though that it was because this filter is more powerful and the moving water was stressing them.

After reading lots of website I realised that the problem was that the back of my tank is uncovered and you can see in it. This was upsetting the fish. The black plastic before covered most of the back.

I went on the net and found a nice pic taken under the sea.
I enlarged this and printed it out on my color printer and taped this to the back of the tank. I did fiddle a bit with the pic to make it brighter.

Now the fish are all out and swimming all over the tank.

God bless the internet   *thumbsupsmiley*

I had the same problem with my quarintine tank. My new discus were very shy and frightened easy. I taped a dark green garbage bag to the back and sides and they are much happier. *thumbsupsmiley*
