Something's wrong with my platy...HELP!

#1
Yesterday, during my fishies breakfast, I noticed a red "blob" on one of my platies.  This red "blob" is located behind her head on the top right of her body, about in line with her pelvic fin.  The scales around it are protruding.  The scales on the left side of her body look fine.  She is behaving normally (not glancing off rocks, scratching, etc.), swimming around, eating normally and not hiding more than normal.
Pics of her are below...
I have never seen this before.  Any ideas on what it is and what I can do to help her?

Sorry about the quality of the photos, but I took them quickly.

Thanks.

Im sorry about your Platy! I hate disease because the fish can not tell you what is wrong and usually until they do show signs, they are sick!

Please check out:
http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/symptoms.html

and maybe you can find the symptons and treatment! It almost seems that your fish might have a wound (L).

Thanks for the site.  Never saw that one before.

Unfortunately, I went out for dinner, and when I came back she was dead. :-[

What really bugs me is that she was swimming normally when I left.

It sort of sounds/looks like hole-in-the-head.

Too bad, I really liked her personality.

Thanks for your help though.
