Do South American Cichlids dig up the gravel like African Cichlids? Are they compatible with plants? I know that African tend to eat the plants and dig up gravel, just wondering if South American Cichlids behave the same way. Are South American's compatible with Clown Loaches, Rainbow Sharks, large Gouramis, and Barbs?

Well to be pedantic cons and firemouths are central american, but acara are south. All those fish dig like heck in my experience

i refer to them as central american cichlids, which they are.

that article is saying that north america extends into central america and does not end at the texas/mexico border...which is debatable to say the least.

the are NOT native to the U.S. .....how about that?
