That sounds very bad. I think I know what you mean. It kind of tilts on it's side and just spins in circles instead of swimming forward, right? It maybe a swim bladder disorder, and at this point it maybe incurable. I don't know what you'd treat the water for, but that would be what you should start looking for info on.

It swam normal at times and then after awhile would go crazy and spin everywhere. I'm talking like serious spinning like upside down, side ways, etc.

It died yesterday tho, I think it was the long shipping trip because it was like almost 8 hours in a car. But then again the lfs says sometimes they don't get their fish until almost 24 hours. It could of already had swim bladder disorder. On the upside the other fish are doing great.

I've seen gouramis spin at my LFS (so much for quality...), and I doubt many (I'd even say any) fish survive this. Most fish that lose control of their swimming wind up dying. Parasites, though, are not something I'd expect to be the cause. Not that I know anything about it, I'm just surprised. Well I suppose it could be if they're the internal kind. But I'd think it'd be something with the swim bladder. Do parasites affect it?

it could be but one time i had this little golden neon tetra and it got suck up next to the filter and when i saw it i turned off the filter and it swam really weird becasue one of it's fins were messed up but it looked normal and sometimes it could swim forward and sometimes swam upside down but it died about 20 minutes later :( but i dunno if this helps becasue if it was both fish it could be a desease

one of my congo tetras did this, i put him in a seperate tank. i would guess that it was a swim bladder problem, because when he wasnt spinning/swimming he would sink like a rock. he took about a week or more to die...i think it was due to starvation and i had no idea what to do with him. so far none of my other fish have shown signs of doing this.

Jan - it looks like you bought a bag of sick fish - talk to the seller about refunds/returns - they probably have the same problem with theirs by now.

Also ask them what they are doing to treat their fish - you could now have a problem in your tank.

The gourami's were a gift from my dad...he got them all the way from st.johns that like a 4-5 hours drive, he didn't bring any water to test so i guess there's no refund or exchange. The other gourami I managed to heal, so now everything is alright. One death out of 10 isn't bad.
