My new sponge filter arrived today that I ordered from Foster and Smith. Previously I had went to Petsmart to get one. I talked to two people in the fish department and they had no idea what I was talking about. They thought I wanted some filter floss for a HOB. They had never heard of a sponge filter before.

Anyway, so I had to order one (Bio-Filter 3 by Azoo) . It sure would be nice if they listed the dimensions of those filters in the catalog. Man, that thing is three times bigger than I thought it would be!

Yeah I know what you mean. I got some of the bio filters several years ago and wondered if they were going to fit in the 10 gallon tank or not. lol. I think that they eventually did put up the general size on the website though, maybe for some of them, but not all, I don't remember. Bah.

Hmmm...not sure about on-line. I was looking at the catalog and called the order in.

Sure wish they would give some decent instructions. I'm assuming I hooked it up the right way: connected the air line running from the air pump to the air duct (had to put the line in hot water to expand in order for it to fit over the duct). I then placed the filter in an upright position with the water/air output manifold just underneath the water. It gurgles quite a bit. No need for an air stone now...
