I got this little SPS frag in a trade from the president of my reef club. He said it was elkhorn and grew pretty fast. I've done a search on the common name elkhorn and haven't found much info.

I didn't really want to get into SPS, but it was all he had, and apparently he had a lot of pieces of it. I placed it high in the tank to get the best lighting and also receive the best water flow.

I've had it 4 or 5 days and I'm wondering if you ever even see the small polyps extend. I can see a little blossomig nubs of polyps, but it's nothing like my softies.

Species level id of sps by most all aquarists is almost impossible (I am not kiddingg, the species differences often hang on microscopic skeletal details), but to me that looks like a horribly bleached acropora
