Yes it's an acro, and no they're not easy to keep. You are going to need to sort out your lighting , flow and water parameters including 'quality' to be jsut so. Which is odd as they're so hardy in the wild, but just do not 'work' so well in most aquaria.
Water changes?, carbon?, everything has to be bang on.

If you try some easier SPOS to start with try montipora first.

Yep, a brown acro I think.

Lighting:
2 - 250 Watt MH XM 10K
2- 110 Watt Actinic VHO

Water:
dKH - 13, I'm still trying to lower this.
CA - 360 - 380, Having a hard time raising this
NO4 - .25 to 0
NO3 - 0 - 5
No nitrite or ammonia.
PH - At least 8.3 since the xenia is going like crazy.

Flow:
2 - SEIO 620
2 - maxi-jet 1200

What is an SPOS? I have another SPS that is in the pic. Its on the right and it seems to be doing good now.
