Starting up a new reef tank.

Process has been slow but I am starting a new reef tank. I ordered a 40"x28"x22"(high) tank. Looks like a square almost. The tank hasn't come in yet because the LFS has been slacking (3 weeks!).

I built my own stand. Made out of oakplywood and 2x4s.

I can't do much without the tank yet. I can't build the canopy until I know the exact measurements.

dude dat..that's a sweet stand. you should start making stands for people.

so when do you expect to get it up and running? let me know when you do.

Beautiful stand, I love the molding. You could do the whole room in that type of molding and then really have the stand match. You're so handy.

It cost me $120 to make the stand. Probably cost only $75 if it were black considering it doesn't need to be stain/varnished.

Can you believe I let two friends take care of my SPS?!

One took half, the other took the other half.

Both of them bleach.

One friend had an ammonia spike because he placed them in a freaking cycling tank!

The other one had a pH spike because his calcium reactor went haywire overnight!

I am so bummed. No corals.

Sorry to hear about your corals Dattack! That is really sad, and how bizarre for both of your friends to have problems at the same time!

I must say that your tank and stand look awesome, can't wait to see the finished canopy too!

Wish my husband was good at stuff like that......

Update with canopy. Need to restain it again considering it's a little bit lighter than the stand.

Flip top canopy considering I will be putting metal halides.
