Sterilite Garbage Can

Has anyone used sterilte garbage cans for saltwater mixing?

u need to be carful because most of them will leech out into the water... brute is safe for sure

Yeah i've seen a lot of people use the Brute ones.

Crap, so you don't know for sure about sterilite?

Ah, just found an artiles on WWM that says they are fine. Just the brute ones are stronger.... I think I might switch them though.

its not that the brute ones are just stronger... they can actualy leach chemicals into your tank , so be sure efore u use it remeber just cause one person says its ok doesnt mean thats true...than again just cause i say what i say doesnt mean anything either but there was a big discussion in my reef club about it

I knew the brute ones were ok, but I wasn't sure about sterilite. I think I'm just going to play it safe and replace them after this next water change.
