I just read the beta Sticky Note to learn they live 2-5 years. mine has got to be getting close to the end. I have lost a few fish now but not one I was attached to yet.
Considering the number of bettas in tiny little bowls or Walmart, dieing of old age is pretty good. Think how you rescued him from where he most likely was and where he could have ended up (short life in a tiny bowl).
My boyfriend tells me the same thing about him. I hate that they keep them in those stupid little cups. They could atleast spare more than 1 cup of water on them.
i hate that they treat bettas as if they are special and can survive in such HORRIBLE conditions...they are sooo intelligent and yet are subjected to cups...mine live in a 33gal long aquarium...and i could not imagine any fish living in such conditions
