Haven't been on this site for quite a long time, for that I am sorry. Some of the old timers will know me, most of you won't. I got my start in Saltwater and my 125g mixed reef tank in this forum about 4 or 5 years ago and pretty much learned everything I know here. I asked dumb question after dumb question, but the pros in the forum stayed with me and we got the 125g up and running and its still running good today, unfortunately LOL I most likely haven't progressed much in the learning department, just kidding, but not far from the truth. Well, I have decided to up grade the 125g mixed reef tank to a 150g 48x30x25 SPS tank, center overflow box, black silicone the back of the tank will be sprayed with a black vinyl. I am shooting for a Bonsai type scape in the new tank, but we will see, what it turns into lol. I have paid for the tank but it won't ship till the first week in January, wife doesn't want a bunch of tank "stuff" as she calls it LOL laying around the house during the holidays. This is a parts list of what I have bought and have nicely stacked in my closet, not laying all over the house lol.
3 AI Sol Blue LED lights
Apex controller with puter access plus PH Probe, Whatcha want to bet I won't be able to get this to work without some help
GFO/Carbon reactors, may have messed up with this purchase, we will see. I was going to buy 2 Next Reef Reactors, LFS owner talked me into buying Three Little Fishes reactors. If I messed up here, no one to blame but myself, I know better
Two MP40 Eco Tech power heads, one new one and one new one that's in my 125g tank. The tank I was going to buy was a 48x24x25, now that I up graded to the 48x30x25 will most likely need a third MP40
Bubble Magnus Dosing Pump
Tunze Top off system, having a Local Reefer friend make me an Acrylic 15x15x21 Top Off Tank
300w heat Probe
1 Mag 1200 return pump
1 Mag 950 for the Manifold to feed the reactors
1 Reef Octopus Bio Pellet Reactor
Lastly a 40g Breeder tank for the sump
All of this has been bought except for the last MP40
What I have left to buy is the Dry Rock, not sure where to get this, either Marco Rocks or Bulk Reef supply, the only Live Rock that will be going into the new tank will be the rock out of my 125g that have my zoas and polys on it. All of the Soft corals will be sold and not go into the new tank.
The Sand for the 1 inch or so sand bed will be coming from Premium Aquatics
The over flow pipes, still up in the air about these. I read a tank build on Reef Central where the guy had bought some pipes from Premium Aquatics that were supposed to be really quite, forgot the name of them.
Going to have to have a lot of help getting and keeping this tank up and running, there are some pretty knowledgeable people in the area so am sure that will help.
