I had a previous thread questioning my frayed tails thinking it might be the high PH after several posts the consensus was nipping for the frayed tails.

Well that idea went down the tube I think. Left my Betta all by his lonesome this past 9 days and his tail is the worst it has ever been. It’s not only frayed but you can see a different ummm.. Fragility to it? It's not white per se, but more like see through? But it is definitely getting worse.
His color is real good he's eating well and very active, again all water tests are good except PH high (7.8).

Bacterial problem? The only reason I hesitate about bacterial, is because this has been slowly progressing for 5 months. I thought bacterial problems had quicker results?

No it's not torn at all, it's just fading away SLOWLY noticed this morning the very tip has darker discoloration. So what ever the problem is, it's progressing.
Does anyone have any feed back?
Just treat it as tail rot?

Just finished a BettaFix soak. Soaked him in 1/2 gal tank 3 days. Noticed improvement 1st day, but day 2-3 I saw no visible changes. He remained active, hungry and last night he’s back in his tank. He's doing great.

I wonder if you know more about how long to treat, can’t find anything specific except not to go over 7 days. I treated 3 days as a guess. Since he remained happy and active after day 1 and there were no visible signs of improvement I figured 2 extra days would take care of any thing non visible, just to be sure.
