I think I will be getting a 66 gallon tank (48x16x20), but I'm not really sure what to stock it with. I have a few options in mind and was wondering which would be best. If you have anything to add or take out from each suggestion let me know.

1) 1 Green Terror, 1 Jack Dempsey, 1 Convict+ a school of Silver Dollars or Rosie Barbs
2) Oscar Tank (would 2 be ok, or should I stick with 1), if I can only get one then I might add a couple Blue Acaras.
3) Oscar, Green Terror
4) Single Jag
5) Single Midas/Red Devil

What would be the best choice. If you have any suggestion to my list please tell me, or if you have another option please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Out of the ones youve listed, i have no experience with but i would suggest the oscar tank with 2 oscars. Ive heard that they are real intelligent and i would like to have a oscar tank when i could. So i would go with the oscars.

I have no experience with those fish either, but can offer suggestions

1) these fish could get too big for a 66. Silver dollars get quite big (10")
2) 1 would work but the acaras might dissappear.
3) same as 1)
4) assuming Jaguar Cichlid. how about a breeding pair?
5) also, a breeding pair perhaps?

A 66 is a wonderful size for a (small) pair of central american cichlids
or one oscar if that is your fancy

a 66, IMO would be excellent for a colony of smaller cichlids (rams, portalagrensis, dimerus, etc.)

Looked at Africa yet?

the only one i have to say anything about is #2

two oscars in a 66gal probably would not work...i think they are best kept alone or a school of 6 or more (huge tank!!) the stronger one would pick on the weaker one so you might evenually only have one left anyway :(

if it were me i'd get an oscar and maybe a pleco, i would love to have an oscar

i know absoultely nothing about the other fish your thinking of so i cant say anything useful about them

good luck whatever you decide
