Evening all!!

Now my 10G tank is cycled and settled, I want to get a Male Betta in there :) (Ive done a lot of research on him and think theyre amazing!) They have some amazing ones at my LFS and also in an independant store ive recently found locally.

I also want to get a couple of African Dwarf Frogs, as I think that'd be cool! And ive seen they are compatible with the Betta (Who I know cant be in with 'Fin Nippers' or another male.) and a couple of Corys. But im unsure what else would be compatible with the ADFs and the Betta?

Any suggestions for numbers too?

Thanks.

Bettas and ADFs can be compatible - mine are doing wonderfully together. But it seems to depend on the personality of the betta. When I was researching the combo I was warned that the betta might attack the ADFs. (For me, it almost seems the opposite! My ADFs will sometimes attack the betta's fins, confusing them with edibles. Fortunately the frogs don't have teeth, so it seems not to cause any damage.) So just a word of caution to watch for aggression and be prepared to rehome someone if needed.
A few dwarf cories, maybe a snail or shrimp, and I'd say your 10g would be stocked.

I have three bettas and each one is different. I have two otos in with one and they do just fine and have for several months. I put an oto in with another one and the oto was not happy at all, but I don't think the betta was the cause. I have another one in a community tank, and he is quite content swimming with the platys. I had tried one of the other bettas in a community tank and he wouldn't move and (I think) felt threatened. So far none of the bettas I have had have been aggressive - that doesn't mean they couldn't be, I just have not seen that behavior. I do not think bettas like a lot of excitement so I would approach the choice of other tankmates with that in mind.
