Hi! I have a 135 gallon with 3 gold severums in it right now. They are so funny! I love them.
Oh yeah, and 1 common pleco.

I was wondering if it would be okay to add about 4 blue acaras to the tank, assuming they are the same size and such.

And I was also wondering if it would be possible to add a school of small colorful fish? Doesn't have to be a cichlid, but has to be colorful. My mom wants some colors to brighten up the tank.

Thank you!

Well i'd start with just 2 Acaras and see how that does. Could get a little crowded with 4 even though its a 135 gal. Color? uhhh Well other smaller fish will become food for your cichlids. Let me think about this for a while and i'll post again. See what others say while i think ;).

Heya! well, they don't -have- to be small, but I figured with severums, acaras, and 1 pleco, i wouldn't have any room left for big colorful fish.

Well, for 2 acaras, Im scared that the big one will bully the other. I prefer 3+ so one doesn't get all the bullying.

True true. Spread the wealth.

Well you could use some "dither" fish as some movement in your tank, might not be the most colorful but Giant Danios work good for this.

Severums have a varying "attitude". You really never know who exactly they are gonna like as a tankmate. I've heard of them almost killing oscars and likeing some Geophagus species. But in general stay away from slow or docile tankmates that if needed, can't put forth the aggression to defend itself. Blue Acaras are supposed to be good tankmates. You could keep them with Silver Dollars. They provide a nice silver shine to the tank.
