For a while I have been wanting to add some dwarf neon rainbow fish to my tank (29 gal.), now that I have finnaly found some at the LFS there is a new problem: My current fish have all grown larger.

In my tank I have (see signature). One of the golden gouramis is 4", the second is about 2.5", Ive had the angel almost a year, I'd say shes 3/5 fully grown, maybe a little more. The pictus is roughly 4" and very fat, sailfin molly 2" and the SAE a little over 3". The two blood fins are 1" and the ghost cat 1.5".

What I want to add: 2 dwarf neon rainbow fish and 2-3 albino corys.

I realize to do this I probably wont be able to keep all my fish :( Fish that I absolutely will not part with are: Angel, pictus and one, but hopefully both golden gouramis. The blood fins (that sparked this) would most likely be first to go, I love them, but are worried that they are soon going to become food for larger fish (namely the pictus who has already eaten a smaller one). But if they go, they arent freeing up much space.

If I could I would love to keep all my fish and add the others, I think I may be able to do a cory or two but not the rainbows. Ive never parted with fish and I dont want to, should I wait longer on the others until nature has taken its corse on my current fish?

What do you guys/girls think?

Edit: Just because I know someone will mention it (I would too) getting a larger tank is out of the question, I barely squeezed this one in. =)

Okay...no larger tank....what about a smaller tank? :D Another 10gal tank? I would think you would be able to keep the corys and the rainbows in a 10gal. Just a thought. Because I wouldn't be able to tell you what fish to keep and what to get rid of....and I wouldn't want to tell you what to get rid of. I think you should keep all of the fish. :)

I'm sure if you thought hard about it, you would be able to figure out a way to fit another 10gal.

My opinion of course.

Thats a really good idea that I wasnt expecting. The only problem is I am completely out of electrical outlets (they all already have power strips) so I dont have a spot for another heater, filter and light.
I really dont want to lose any of my current fish, I just dont know what to do yet.

condense your electricity, split outlets on the power strip, example, plug 3 heaters into one socket, the filters into one, and the lights put on a timer with a power strip, that frees up tons of space. i had your problem as well, but Now I ahve 6 lights, 3 filters, 3 heaters, 2 air pumps, a fog machine, and think that is it, all plugged into a total of 2 wall outlets. so the electicity could be easily reorganized.
