Wonder if anyone has come across this behavior, and what it could mean - i have a platy that every once in a while goes to the surface and quite literally swallows an air bubble and after a few seconds 'spits' it out again. None of the other fish in the tank (platies and swordtails) are doing this. She's not GASPING for air, the action is the same as when she swallows food that floats on the surface. Thanks for any tips on what this could be!

quite simply your fish just thinks the bubble is food and when it relises its not it spits it out, it keeps on doing it because it cant bear to think it may have just missed a mouthfull, i have noticed that a lot of livebearers do this i suppose thats why people think there stupid
