If you have read my other post

http://www.myfishtank.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11092

you'll know that I my tank got ich and I have currently going thru a treatment of a 25% water change plus a daily full dose of medication. Today is the 3rd day of the treatment and the water has gone very milky even after a 30% water change.

The worst part is that my kissing gouramis are lying on the bottom of the tank, motionless. They look weak and stressed out. The 2 bala shark are floating in the tank also very emtionless and stressed out. I am afraid that if I do not insert the carbon back in now, the fish may die. The fish might be stressed from the treatment or the ich infection, I really don't know now.

Almost 95% of the ich on the fish are gone, but I think I can still see 1 or 2 here and there.

Should I continue with the ich treatment or put the carbon back in?

Please help.

The Ich life cycle stays longer than the time it is just visible on the fish. Always finish the prescribed dosage and the amount of time. If there isn't an amount of time on the medication I think 2 weeks is usually good...someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that!!

To help your fish cope with the stress...do you have salt in the tank? If no...you should add the reccomended amount.

Have you raised the temperature a bit? If no...raise it a tiny bit. It makes the life cycle of the ich go faster.

Do you use stress coat? If no...you might pick some up and add it to the tank.

You should keep the lights off as much as possible and feed sparingly so there is less waste in the water.

Hope that helps.

I use stress coat and salt (at its fullest possible amount) on the new water during all of my water change. I fed them once yesterday and didn't feed them anymore today, but I don't think they are in the mood to eat anyways.

I pretty sure that these fish will not last 20 days like this.
