Alright, here's a thought

Beaudreux's new home should be here in a couple weeks when we will get it set up and started cycling. Here is my thought to help get it going...over this time period, I will be doing at least 2 WC/wk, and I have a wide array of tank decor that I have been cycling through his tank every couple/few weeks. If I put the water I am taking out of the tank during the WC and put it in a small tank that I am not using (no filtration), and I put in it any decor that was in his current tank (replacing it with other decor that has been in there before), can I keep any bacteria alive that is on the current decor and use that to get the new tank going (along with the gravel, any replacement decor, and one of the small filters that is in the current tank)? Is having a few more plastic plants/logs going to make that big of a difference in cycling the new tank, or is it just a waste of time & effort?

Waste of time. The decorations don't hold enough bacteria, and the new, uncycled water will kill what little is there. The easiest way to "instantly cycle" a new tank is to put cycled filter media and/or substrate into the tank. I do it all the time.
