3 fish have died in 2 days
1 my female sailfin molly died yesterday of an internal parasite and today 2 female platies due to my stupid male. So heres the story
I came home and looked at my fish tank. I saw a molted shrimp shell! I was so happy and saw the cherry who molted eating it Now, my male platy always chased the 2 females around the tank but left the one he mates with alone. They always get away, but not today. I saw this happen as I was walking away from my tank. My male platy darted at the smallest one and bit of its pectoral fin then killed it. I was shocked and it all happened in a matter of 3 seconds. I don't know how it killed it but all I saw was that it just rammed right into her. So sad and pissed, I grab the net and scoop the poor dead female. When I come back, another shock. My fish tank looked fine until I couldn't find the yellow and black female platy. I usually do a fish count when I get home but I didn't right away because of what happened before. I searched everywhere for her but couldn't find her. Finally, inside the wisteria, I find her dead with her WHOLE tailfin bitten off and pale white. I knew right then that the male platy had something to do with this. I am so pissed of right now and I plan on trading him in So I now with an unexpected 3 deaths in my tank, I am shocked. Now, I just want to trade in my male platy and forget about him. Poor females
