Hey. I have an Eclipse 6 that has been set up since May, water quality seems to be good, and the current fish in it are very healthy and have been healthy for months.

The current residents are-

1 Dwarf Gourami (Male)
1 Neon Tetra
1 Plecostomus

Yeah, I know plecos can get huge, but he hasn't really grown at all within the 3 months I have had him, and I had a real bad algae problem, which is why I bought him in the first place. But once he gets too big, I will probably have already upgraded then.

I had 2 other neons, but they passed away over the months, and this little guy is the only one I have left. He has been alone for about a month now, so I think it's time for a few more neons.

The gourami is still alive and kickin' after having him since May.

What are some other fish I can get for a tank this size (small, I know) that would be compatible with the fish I already have in it?

Thanks for any replies.

Heh, they actually just ignore eachother.

The only time I see them interacting in anyway is when I am feeding them, sometimes the gourami will briefly chase away the neon from his flakes, but the neon always ends up coming back and getting his share anyway.

Dwarf gouramies are lovely, I ought to get one or two when I get a bigger tank.

But you probably should get more neons, as they are school fish and enjoy being in groups. Its less stressful to them, to see a familiar face, they feel more secure that way. Or maybe cardinals would be good.

If you don't want neons, as Flex said, cories are always great. Or perhaps a few guppies would be a nice addition. Or danios (I've never had them, but they look very eye-catching at the store).

ah, forgot to mention the harlequins, also neat little fish. And then there are the black neons, another pretty little fish, bigger than the neon, but I rarely see them. And both of those are on my 'To Get' list for when I get myself a bigger tank ;)

Danios are also aschooling fish and are best in numbers...plus they really need room to move because they LOVE to play...I have 8 in a 40 gal and sometimes I think that's too small...they like to dart around playing tag...LOL...

Neons would be best but quite honestly I would take that money and put it toward a 10 gal so they could have more room...
