Okay i was on the Cicinati(sp.) lfs web site looking around and i read the summere tubbin article. and so my mind starts working and i'm thinking if he can do that i might be able to do it all year long since i live in phoenix. So what do you guyes think it doesn't get that cold in the winter i'm more worried about the summer actually.

Thanks a ton that article was the sh*t and has also sparked the idea of me doing the same exact thing next summer. Seeing as you live in Pheonix you could do it year round. As for your summer or winter, i think the fish could live, i know it gets real hot in the summer but try it out with some zebra danios or another fish. It cant hurt.

Ahh yes, i know what article you are talking about now. Thats a crazy idea and its cool that it worked out for her. But for now ill stick with a tub.

Now you got me thinking about doing it. I have heard of it before but I've been skeptical. If discus can live in a pool, I figure rainbows can too. I have to wait a while to do it though, I live in flippin western Washington. It's a wee bit cold for tropical fish for all but about 3-4 months out of the year. Do you think that will be long enough?

I do this every summer, and have suceeded. It is quite fun actually, the only problem is that since I am in cincinnati myself, i have to take down the tub at the beginning of october, or sometimes earlier. Either way it is fun, easy, and a good way to get fry. But beware, i have had frogs spawn in these tubs as well. I was wondering why i thought those zebra danio fry were really big... stupid frogs ;)
