hi ive had many kinds of fish in the past but i am wondering about african cichlids.Iv'e been doing lots of research on electric blue and electric yellow
(Sciaenochromis fryeri and Labidochromis caeruleus)
and i was wondering if they can live togeatherin a 40 gal :confused:

Well the only problem with that mix is size difference. Electric blues can get up to about 8". So they will get much bigger than Electric Yellows (yellow labs). They also have potential to get a little more aggressive than the yellows which may cause some problems. It CAN be done, but i'm not sure if i personally would attempt it in a 40gal tank.

Sciaenochromis fryeri and Labidochromis caeruleus will get along fine! I have both in my 80G and they don't even look at one another.

Both pretty fish IMO

since the yellow labs tend to be more of an omnivore than many other mbuna species, i would also think that they would make pretty good tankmates.

in a 40 gallon though, that isnt a good idea.
