I expeerienced the same thing, and was freaking that my fish weren't getting any oxegen. My husband (bless his little heart) had a battery operated air pump he uses for his fishing boat live well. It was loud as hell, but did the job! I guess I'll keep him around for a few more years.*laughingc

Wow, you guys were lucky, i didnt get my power back on until 4 in the morning today, yet the town over had power since 8pm the day before. All my fish did fine as well, it was sure hot enough that you didnt have to worry about the heaters.

My neighborhood is a circle and there are about 3-4 townhouses that had power because they get electric from a privately owned company...I spent most of the evening there, got home around 11pm. I have a little mini battery operated TV and watched the local news until my power came on around 11:30pm...then I made my rounds to the tank and clocks...the gas station was only allowing $5 in gas per person, grocery stores were MOBBED!!!

Luckily I shopped 2 days before, got gas in the morning...

Wow, I can't believe the outages! :O

Over here on the west coast we didn't get that. *phew* The only thing we're worried about here is the drought. Like the water here is good for fishies anyway...

But yeah! Those little battery operated air pumps are great! *thumbsups

Well i'm glad noone lost any fish due to the outage in the affected areas. I was lucky because I live in Quebec where we are on a seperate power grid. I'm also a hardened 98 ice storm veteran where we had no power in the middle of winter for weeks, lol. Those battery operated air pumps sure do come in handy in times like these heh. :)

I didn't get power until 9:20am -- 17 hours without. 2 of my swordtails were swimming right near the surface when the power finally came back on. I'm worried about the bacteria colony on my filters sponges, and also about the temp...the tank reached about 90F over night.

Adding battery powered pump to the list of things to get.
