I have been thinking about making the switch to RO water and want to know if it's worth it. The initial cost is so high, but I've heard very good things about it. In my area I have water with a hardness of around 7 DH and the ph is just about 7, so my water is pretty good anyway. Has anyone switched to it already? Pros and Cons?

I live in Arizona and my water is terrable. It's very hard and has a ph of like 8.4. I don't have too many problems. Your water seems perfect for most tropical fish.

Amen to the "if it aint broke don't fix it" comment. If your water is good anyway then why spend the extra money? RO water is actually quite the pain...when you use it (from what I understand... I don't use it but one of my friend's does) you have to add extra stuff to it for buffering etc

Personally my water is worse than yours, but I'm still not going to go through the trouble because my fish seem to be doing just fine w/o it.
