I'm planning to switch the water in my house to soft water.

Thus, my fish tank will eventually use soft water also. I was wondering if there are any concerns when I'm making the switch over. Do I have to do it gradually? I typically change 40-50% of the tank water per cleaning. (I have a 60 gallon freshwater tank).

Thanks.

I wondered the same thing, but the change seemed uneventful for my fish. Been using soft water for years now. I think the cold water is barely effected by a softener. I do refill my tanks with slightly warmed water right from the tap with a Python. Nothing bad has ever happened. Good luck:)

Thanks for all the input.

So I'm assuming that switching to soft water won't have any effects on my fish. (I don't have any live plants in my tank).
