swolen gills?

everything has been perfect in my tank, but just now i looked in and one of my male guppies seemed to be swimming a little funky. i looked closer and it appears that his gills are swollen (if taht is possible). basically if u look at him head on it looks like 2 round balls on either side of his face. any ideas?

What are your ammonia and nitrite readings? Swollen gills can be a result of an uncycled tank. It's also possible he has gill flukes or gill disease. If you let us know your water parameters, we can try to rule out some things.
