Swordtail too old?

My female swordtail Trinity is swimming weird. That's exactly what my other female did who died two days after I noticed that. What's wrong with her? Someone told me that's what they do when they get old (they can't swim properly anymore.)

Aww ive had a few fish that do that, and they always died a few days later
Im not sure whats wrong with her but she probably wont last long

I doubt it's old age, she doesn't even look fully grown.

Well, the one I had before was as big as she is now. Trinity has definitely grown. Hmmm. She always has her fins clamped together unless there's food or I wave the scissors ))

Wow you've only had her one year? Well that sucks I hope she makes it even though it sounds and looks like she wont. At least you have a fry from her still dont you?

No, um, actually "french the fry" (thank you alter ) died a while ago. All the fry I have are cories right now...

"update on swordtail fry" is where I wrote it. She just died one morning. I have no idea why. She seemed so healthy too.

Anyway, I hope Trinity doesn't die before Wednesday. We're gone for a couple days...

if she does die then will you get another one to breed them or as a companion?

Well, she's not dead yet, luckily. I'm not sure if I'll get another one though. I've failed with the previous breeding attempt and am trying to focus on the cories for now. But, yeah, I might get another one...

When I fed the fish this morning Trinity swam up to the surface like she always does. She didn't eat the food but rather floated back half way down. Then she swam back up and did the same several times.

Now she is lying in the corner, sometimes sideways, and is breathing really hard. She doesn't move around anymore.

Luckily, Neo is leaving her alone, taking interest in Starlet.

She's not eating, not moving, and breathing hard. What should I do?

If she really is getting worse like you say she is I would start to look at quick deaths its i think a thread called Euthanasia or something like that in the noob or more experienced freshwater fish forums. Just look at them and see if she is getting worse or better every day.

She died Friday night. Old age I would assume. Thanks for the tips anyway.
