Tail Rot-Treating But Not Regrowing- Help!

#1
So my betta Eclipse, a half-moon, has tail rot to my knowledge. He's in a 1 gallon tank with a air pump, no filter. I've been treating him for 2 1/2 weeks now for it and no sign of it getting better. I've been treating him with API Melafix, API Aquarium Salt, and Jungle Anti-Bacteria Medicated Fish Food. He's tail hasn't gotten worse but isn't growing back, how long does it take to grow back? Or is he still sick?

The biggest cause of tail rot is poor water quality. Is it at all possible to get him in a larger tank with a filter?

How often are you doing water changes in that tiny tank?

I would change out 50% a day if you have to keep him in there so he has a constent source of fresh, clean water. As I said a larger tank and/or better filteration will likely help a lot as well.

Don't mix medicines either. You need to pick either the Jungle meds or the API meds but you can't use both together. Not medicines should ever be in your tank at the same time unless they're explicitely said to be compatable in their instructions (Ie. Melafix and Pimefix or Coppersafe and Maracyn's antibiotics).

Lastly. You have an AMAZING camera.

He'd probably be fine with guppies but not Angels.

If you have an extra $15 grab a little Elite filter, they're made for small Betta tanks and that might help you water quality a fair bit too.

It's really hard to maintain good perameters in such a small tank. Things can go down hill really quickly (as you can see). If you have a speciality aquarium store near by your place you might want to peek in. You can buy a 5 gallon tank (just the tank) at Big Als up here for $9.00 (and a 10G is only 15.00). You already have gravel and plants it looks like. A bit more gravel and you could transplant him over to something like that pretty easily.
