Taking Apart My Filter

I have a Whisper 20 filter. Anyhow, I am trying to replace the "energier" part, does anybody have any idea how to take this off? thanks

Okay, how do you know that you need to replace your impeller?

I've had a problem with slow/no flow coming out of my filter. After screwing with it for a while, usually it will be back to full flow.

Not sure about the 20, but on my Whisper 60 there is a circular knob on the top that controls water flow higher or lower.

Usually you only need to replace an impeller if it's bent. Otherwise, a good cleaning with an unused toothbrush should get the filter working well again. It's also a good idea to clean out the intake tube, as those can get filled with gunk and reduce flow.
